Terms of Service

By downloading or using Fridgy, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Fridgy on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use within your household. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

2. Accounts

• You may use Fridgy as a guest, or create an account via Google sign-in (Apple sign-in is planned).
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Fridgy on your own. Adults may add children as members of a family they own and remain responsible for the content shared there.

3. Families and Shared Content

• When you join a family, every member of that family can read, edit, complete, and delete every note in it. There is no per-note ownership beyond the family.
• An invite code grants access to the family it belongs to. You are responsible for whom you share it with. You can ask the family owner to remove a member or rotate the code at any time.
• The owner of a family (the user who created it) may delete the family at any time. Deleting a family permanently removes all notes and member records for everyone, with no undo. Deleting your account as an owner has the same effect.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, or that violates the rights of others.
• Use the app to harass other members of a family you belong to.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disassemble, or circumvent the technical measures of the app or its backend.
• Use the app for automated, commercial, or scraping purposes.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Service Availability

Fridgy relies on Google Firebase for authentication, real-time synchronization, and push delivery. Service availability depends on Firebase availability and your own internet connection. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

6. Intellectual Property

Fridgy, its logo, original visual design, and software are owned by the app developer. The content you and your family create inside the app (the notes, the family name, the invite code) belongs to you and your family.

7. Termination

You may stop using Fridgy and delete your account at any time (Family screen → Danger Zone → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if continued operation becomes infeasible. Upon termination, your account data is removed per the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Fridgy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fridgy and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or in connection with your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to these Terms or Fridgy is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, if the app was used for free, limited to $10 USD).

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision. Continued use of Fridgy after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved individually, not as part of a class action.
